As part of my professional training with APAC (the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy) and the University of Chichester, I am completing required clinical hours in line with professional, academic, and ethical standards. APAC is a UK-based training organisation specialising in play therapy and child-centred therapeutic practice, with a strong emphasis on ethical working, safeguarding, supervision, and reflective learning. This training combines academic study with supervised clinical practice to ensure that all work with children is carried out safely, responsibly, and in accordance with recognised professional standards.
Parents and carers can be reassured that all information shared within sessions is treated with the highest level of care and confidentiality. Records are stored securely, accessed only when appropriate, and used solely to support safe, ethical, and effective therapeutic practice. Supervision and secure record keeping are in place to ensure children’s wellbeing remains the highest priority at all times.
All clinical hours, session notes, and related documentation are securely recorded using Fortuna, a professional clinical management system designed specifically for therapeutic and counselling practices. Fortuna supports secure record keeping, case management, and supervision processes, helping to ensure that clinical work is documented accurately and responsibly.
The system is used to log session notes, track clinical hours, and support auditing and supervisory review. Access to records is strictly controlled, and information is stored securely in line with professional expectations around confidentiality, data protection, and ethical practice. Using Fortuna helps ensure transparency, accountability, and consistency across all aspects of clinical work.
My clinical work is supported by regular professional supervision with an experienced clinical supervisor. Session notes are reviewed and audited as part of this supervision process, ensuring that practice remains ethical, reflective, and in line with best practice guidelines. This ongoing oversight provides an additional layer of accountability and quality assurance. Supervision also supports ongoing learning and professional development, which contributes to safe and effective therapeutic practice.
At present, I am working exclusively with children who present with low-level emotional or behavioural needs. This means that:
Suitability is carefully considered during initial discussions. If a child’s needs were to change or fall outside this scope, this would be discussed openly and sensitively, with guidance provided around appropriate next steps or referrals where necessary.
I am committed to working ethically, transparently, and within my professional boundaries at all times. Safeguarding, confidentiality, and the wellbeing of each child remain central to my practice. My aim is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic space where children can express themselves freely through play.
